Fireworks
It seems that whenever I go to see fireworks in London I fail to take into account the amount of people going. I always seem to have some issue getting there, and yesterday was no different.
I was going down to the Clapham Common for the fireworks, and had to get off the tube at Vauxhall due to overcrowding at Stockwell Station. Because of this I was unable to get to any of the stations around Clapham Common and had to get a bus. This was really full, and I had to walk the last section as the traffic wasn’t going anywhere. I saw the fireworks starting as I was walking down the road towards the common, but fortunately I managed to be on the common for most of the fireworks.
In future, I really need to leave more time to get there!
Updates…
I haven't updated my blog for a while, so I thought I'd just write a quick post…
Firstly, I updated my gallery a few weeks ago, with all of my pictures and videos being found in the same place. I uploaded a lot of new photos and some additional videos whilst I was at it. This can be found here.
Secondly, we've managed to find a house for next year! It's in East Acton, and all of the paperwork is being processed now, so hopefully it will be ours soon…
Finally, I've been to a couple of weddings so far this month, both family and friends. The family wedding was in Poland, which made a nice change, and that was a really good weekend. I didn't understand most of the service as only a couple of bits were in English, but it all went well and there was plenty of food and drink at the reception (both days of it…).
I Passed!
I've passed the first year of my degree! No re-sits for me this year. I got mostly As, apart from two exams, which I got a B and a D in…. I'm not overly surprised by those though. Apparently it's an A overall, which is better than I was expecting.
The End of Year 1
On Wednesday, I had my last exam of the year, and as such no longer have anything to do! It went reasonably well and didn't seem to cause me any problems. My first year at Imperial has been really good, although some of the work has been harder than I might have liked.
To celebrate the end of the year, we went to Thorpe Park yesterday and had a really fun time. Stealth was a lot better than I was expecting it to be, and for the most part the weather looked kindly on us.
End of Exams and the Going Down Dinner
I finished my main exams for this year last Friday. They didn't go as well as I would have liked, but I don't think I've done too badly overall :S Now that exams are over, I have a lot more time to do things, as I'm not doing revision all the time…
Saturday saw the Selkirk Going Down Dinner, which was a good night despite the fact that quite a few people were missing. The food was pretty good, and everybody seemed to be in a good mood. I'll post my pictures from this (not that I have many) when I've finished my gallery, which shouldn't be too much longer now…
